A wooden rack used to store ink balls during the printing process or when they are not in use. It was typically placed near the printing press for easy access and to prevent the ink balls from touching each other. The ball rack shown in the Book Arts Lab is attached to the side of the printing press with metal nails. The rack as an external component, allowing the ink balls to be stored conveniently while remaining readily accessible during printing.
